Academician Xishan Hao attended the on-line XIth Congress of oncologists and radiologists of CIS and Eurasia 


  On April 25, Professor Xishan Hao, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Director of the National Clinical Research Center for Cancer, Director of Tianjin Cancer Institute, was invited by Prof. Andrey Kaprinto, Academician of Russian Academy of Sciences, President of Association for Directors of Centers and Institutes of Oncology and Radiology, CIS and Eurasia, attend the on-line XIth Congress of oncologists and radiologists of CIS and Eurasia and gave an academic report entitled “Early detection and treatment of Breast Cancer in China” in the section Achievements and international cooperation of oncological services in CIS countries, Europe and Asia. 


 The Congress has been held under the auspices of the Association for Directors of Centers and Institutes of Oncology and Radiology, CIS and Eurasia (ADIOR of CIS and EA) biannually since 1996 when the Association was founded and is considered to be the most influential event for the expert society in oncology in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Eurasia countries.

  As the spreading of COVID-19 pandemic is still severe globally, and also considering the relevance of the scientific program and great interest from the experts of all over the world, the XI Congress of Oncologists and Radiologists of the CIS and Eurasia was held for the first time ONLINE (in a remote format) on the previously scheduled dates of April 22-25, 2020. Participants joined the online congress from anywhere in the world.


 The Congress brought together more than 3000 leading Russian and foreign specialists in oncology, radiology, radiotherapy, surgery and other related fields for sharing and exchanging the up-to-date result on malignant tumor research, the treatment strategy on prevention and control of malignant tumor. As invited key-note speaker, Prof. Xishan Hao mainly introduced the breast cancer screening and comprehensive breast cancer control strategies in China, which was highly acknowledged and appreciated by the international representatives attending the congress. Moreover, it highlighted the latest achievements in the level of breast cancer diagnosis and development of the academic discipline of breast studies in China. 


 Since 2018, Prof. Hao was elected as vice president for Asia of the Senologic International Society’s (SIS), he has been actively promoting prevention and treatment of breast cancer and international collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region. Nowadays, international cooperation in the field of oncology has become important like never before. The congress will enhance the academic exchanges and cooperation between China and CIS and Eurasia countries, and further promote the prevention and treatment of breast cancer within China, Asia even in the world; the final result being the improvement of people's health and well-being.
